Leigh-Ann from Klein Collection reviews her stay at the Robertson Small Hotel
Situated in the heart of Robertson, South Africa, a favourite tourist attraction spot that is located along the longest wine route in the world, Route 62, resides the chicly quaint Robertson Small Hotel providing luxury accommodation and fine cuisine all year round.
The hotel also hosts its signature restaurant, Reuben’s at the Robertson. Reuben’s offers an exclusive wine collection. That and the likes of well known Chef Reuben Riffel is a recipe of sheer elegance and success. The Robertson Small Hotel prides itself on its simple yet contemporary architecture. We could understand why.
Klein Collection: How far is Robertson Small Hotel from Cape Town?
Leigh-Ann: Depending on how busy the road is, between 1h45 mins – 2hrs.
Klein Collection: What made you decide to stay at Robertson Small Hotel?
Leigh-Ann: It was the perfect place for a quiet and peaceful getaway. Not too far to drive either.
Klein Collection: What was your first impression of Robertson Small Hotel on arrival?
Leigh-Ann: What a beautiful old building! Their attention to detail is amazing. Everything is just beautiful.
Klein Collection: What was the service like?
Leigh-Ann: Their service is absolutely outstanding. Their staff treat you so well. From when you arrive at the hotel, until you leave, you are treated like kings and queens. It was raining when we arrived at the hotel, and we were even greeted with an umbrella at the car, Excellent service! And it was done with a smile.
Klein Collection: Is it child friendly?
Leigh-Ann: The Hotel is child friendly, but I would personally not suggest that children stay at the hotel. There is not much for children to do at the property itself. Also, the guests who were staying there looked as though they are also just looking for peace and quiet and no disturbances.
Klein Collection: What activities are offered at Robertson Small Hotel?
Leigh-Ann: There is a wellness room, where you can have different treatments done.
Klein Collection: What was the food like?
Leigh-Ann: Absolutely amazing – Reuben’s meals are to die for – definitely 5 star meals. The best was our cappuccino served at breakfast!
Klein Collection: What was the highlight of your stay at Robertson Small Hotel?
Leigh-Ann: First thing that again comes to mind, is the Amazing Cappuccino!
The Poolside Suite that we stayed in is stunning. The suite has all the modern facilities one needs. The suite also has its own private outside lounge area, where you can sit and enjoy a good cup of coffee / hot chocolate (which is also complimentary in the room).
Klein Collection: What should potential visitors take note of?
Leigh-Ann: When you arrive at the front of the hotel, you are then told you need to go around to the back entrance of the hotel where you can then park your vehicle and check in.
Klein Collection: Who is Robertson Small Hotel ideal for?
Leigh-Ann: Anyone that is looking for a quick breakaway, and does not want to drive too far. Definitely honeymooners – the Pool Side Suite is highly recommended, but they also have a great Honeymoon Room.
